My husband and I have been working in East San Diego county for about 7 years now. I want to charge reasonable fees, but just found out that another drafter that one of our big contractors works with charges nearly triple what we do. My husband's friend in Phoenix, who taught hubby how to draw houses, charges quite a bit more than we do, as well. Interestingly enough, we raised our rates just a bit, and was told by a new client that her contractor stated that we'd "ripped them off". How do you decide just what is reasonable and competitive without under/over bidding a project?
