I HAVE BEEN WORKING IN THE ELECTRICAL
DRAFTING FIELD FOR 7 YEARS AND HAVE A CERTIFCATE IN DRAFTING TECHNOLOGY .
I HAVE BEEN DOING DESIGN FULL TIME NOW FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO FROM THIS DATE ON. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD BE EXPECTING TO BE PAID HERE IN MICHIGAN. I JUST RECIEVED A RAISE AND I'M AM CURIOUS IF IT SEEMS FAIR OR NOT.

Cannot answer for Michigan but in NE Oklahoma, increase seem to run between 3-4% on average. You might use that as an datum or a visit to the US Department of labor website might provide more information.

For anybody reading this and if you wanted to move to the Houston/Beaumont Texas area, Mechanical drafters with 12-16 years exp. are making between 40 and 75 bucks an hour with time and 1/2 over 40. Business is booming down here. As far as out of school, the average salary is abou 18-22 an hour with an assoc. degree.
