Professional Certification Program Print E-mail
The ADDA PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION  (AD) (CD) (CDD) (CDT) (DIT) Examinations are international certification programs that allows apprentice drafters, drafters, designers, design drafters, design technicians, engineering and architectural technicians and digital imaging technicians, as well as other graphic professionals to indicate their knowledge in professional concepts and internationally recognized standards and practices. ADDA developed these examinations to elevate an individual's comprehension of the professional standards related to design drafting and the graphics profession. Certification enables drafters to demonstrate professional capabilities and helps employers in identifying quality employees. The test does not cover software which is specific to computer aided drafting or design(CADD) or graphic production.

The ADDA Drafter Certification Examination is open to all individuals, regardless of experience and formal education.  Membership in ADDA is not required for you to take the test or become certified.

Becoming a Certified Drafter, reflects your proven knowledge of drafting.  Certification will, enhance your credibility as a professional, improve your opportunities for promotion and pay increases, give you a competitive edge in a highly technical job market

This certification has really helped my in my job search to find
the ultimate position and pay that I wanted/needed and
it is going to help me with my raise this month.

Thanks,  Casey

When employers hire an ADDA Certified Drafter, they know that the new employee meets certification criteria and that they have demonstrated initiative and pride in the profession by becoming certified.  Thus, certification can serve as one criterion for differentiating among candidates in the selection process. Certification serves educators as a supplementary measurement of a student 's performance on a recognized national level.
