Find out how you as a student, instructor, professional or company can promote design and drafting. When is Design Drafting Week? April 12-16, 2010 Does Design Drafting Week have a Theme? A Legacy of Excellence What is Design Drafting Week? ADDA's Design Drafting week is an week set aside by the ADDA Board of Directors and Governors to recognize the many individuals who are employed or support the Graphics Industry. ADDA's Annual Poster Contest is one avenue that is used for this purpose. ADDA offers graphic and drafting students in the secondary and post secondarny programs to design a poster for the specific week, based on the theme of the ADDA Annual Technical and Educational Conference held the same week. The design of the posters is totally up to the individual and their perspective and visions. ADDA encourages not only those involved in graphic design to submit entries but also those who are involved in the drafting, engineering or architectural classes. This Week is to honor all those in the design drafting field and educational process. ADDA supports the Designer, Drafter, Graphic Artist, Engineer, Architects, Design Technicians, Technical Illustrator, Visual Communicator and Digital Photography and Editing. What Can I do? ADDA will announce the winning poster on the website shortly after January 01. You can print two different poster sizes. 8.5 x 11 or 11 x 17. Some individuals get innovative and print posters up to 4 feet long. Then place these posters around the school, workplace or other areas you feel are acceptable. This will make our profession visible to the public and let individuals know, there is a week set aside to honor the work we do, every day. You can also contact your local government officials such as, the City or County Mayor to proclaim the listed week as Design Drafting week in your community. This is a great article to have your local newspaper do a story on. Design Drafting and the Graphics profession effects everything done every day, by every individual. Without a plan or visual graphic, nothing is manufactured, build, made or sold. Everything has a plan for creation, and we are the people who make the creation happen. |
